Rice TRW role is uncertain
Victor Rice, CEO of British auto supplier LucasVarity PLC, may not join TRW Inc. as vice chairman and head of automotive operations of the combined companies.
Rice was expected to lead TRW's largest division as part of the planned $6.6 billion acquisition of LucasVarity. A spokesman for TRW said Rice is discussing 'his future role with the company' with TRW Chairman Joseph Gorman.
Some British newspapers have reported that TRW's offer to Rice now includes just a board seat and a consultant's job. Gorman and TRW Executive Vice President James Remick now operate TRW's automotive group, which generates 60 percent of the company's revenue.
