NIADA SCHOLARSHIP - Don Foss, chairman of Credit Acceptance Corp., an automotive finance company in Southfield, Mich., is offering several new annual scholarships to study automotive marketing at Northwood University. The scholarships are available to the children or grandchildren of National Independent Automobile Dealers Association members and their employees. Northwood has campuses in Michigan, Florida and Texas.
AUTO TRADER LAUNCHES REPORT - Auto Trader Online has introduced Search Reporter, a service that details how many Auto Trader Online vehicle shoppers are searching for vehicles in the dealer's area code, state or region and what vehicles they are seeking. The Search Reporter report is faxed to member dealers every other week. Auto Trader Online is owned by Trader Publishing Co. in Norfolk, Va., and lists used vehicles for dealers and consumers on its Web site, www.traderonline.com.
NEW MANHEIM ONLINE VERSION - Manheim Auctions Inc. has launched a new version of its Manheim Online system. For $50 per month, Manheim Online's Internet services include: purchasing used vehicles; reserving a place at an auction lane at Manheim's auctions; and downloading inventory to the AutoConnect used-vehicle retail Internet site. Manheim, based in Atlanta, expects to add industry news to Manheim Online by year end.
POLK, MAXIS JOIN FORCES - Polk Co. of Southfield, Mich., has signed an agreement to provide MaxIS Research Inc. of Salt Lake City with market information for MaxIS Research's Inventory Watch Series. The Inventory Watch Series is a subscription service that gives dealers weekly used-vehicle inventory management reports. Polk and MaxIS will market the service jointly in the United States.
