Having deep-sixed the Eighty Eight, Oldsmobile plans a new car to fill the full-sized-sedan gap in its lineup. This unauthorized photo shows the new vehicle - called the Aurora 6 or Aurora 8, depending on the engine - undergoing cold-weather testing. Styling will be similar to the Olds Alero and Olds Intrigue in a bid to build brand identity. Olds will replace the current luxury-oriented Aurora, freeing the name for use on the less-expensive sedan that will replace the Eighty Eight. The car will bow for the 2001 model year.
