Australian newspapers claim the Holden coupe, a design concept based on the GM-Holden's VT Commodore sedan (a.k.a. Cadillac Catera) shown at the Sydney Motor Show in October, may come to the United States as a Buick. No way, says Buick General Manager Robert Coletta. Buick has studied importing the rear-drive Commodore, built by General Motors' Aussie subsidiary General Motors-Holden's Automotive Ltd., as an offering between the LeSabre and Park Avenue. But GM's board has twice nixed the plan, and Coletta says a coupe would be an even harder sell because of the likely low volumes.
