FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - In an effort to improve customer service, Republic Industries Inc. is beefing up the staff at its 10 district offices.
'We want more decision making at the local level to keep close to the market,' says Mike Maroone, president of Republic's automotive retail group.
Typically, the regional offices have had six staff members: two vice presidents, a controller, a fixed operations representative, an F&I representative and a sales or inventory representative.
Over the next two months, each district office will add a customer satisfaction manager, an electronic commerce specialist and a human resource manager. Republic also plans to move some of its AutoNation Finance and information technology employees from its Fort Lauderdale, Fla., headquarters into the district offices.
The Denver district office also has a marketing manager to oversee the local brand marketing campaign.
As Republic expands the brand campaign, other district offices will add marketing managers.
