A story on Page 30 of the Dec. 7 issue incorrectly listed quarterly sales figures for Adesa Corp. The Indianapolis-based company sold 682,000 vehicles during the first three quarters of 1998, up from 594,000 in 1997. During the third quarter, sales hit 232,000 vehicles, up from 203,000 a year before.
A story on Page 4 of the Dec. 7 issue misstated the reasons for Nissan's poor performance in the United States last year. Nissan said the company was hurt by losses on leases from prior years, as well as by the costs of clearing out prior-year models ahead of the launch of the new Altima and small pickup.
