Nissan has extended until Jan. 4 the $2,000 rebate on all 1998 models. It is now a regional program, and the money goes to the customer or the dealer, at the option of the regional manager. Previously, it was strictly a customer incentive.
Kia is paying a $500 rebate on the 1999 Sephia sedan.
Payments to customers on 1998 Kia models are $1,500 on the Sephia; $2,000 on the base Spor-tage two-wheel drive sport-utility; $1,750 on the base Sportage with 4-wheel drive; and $1,000 on the Sportage EX with either 2wd or 4wd. The program will expire on Jan. 4.
