Here's an unauthorized and largely uncamouflaged view of the Chevrolet Impala, which replaces the Lumina for the 2000 model year. The front-wheel-drive sedan is wider and larger than the one it replaces, though not quite as big as the Impalas of old. The V-6-powered car is expected to bow at the Detroit auto show in January, with its Monte Carlo counterpart scheduled to be unveiled in Chicago in February. Both cars are based on General Motors' revamped W-platform.
