DETROIT - Chevrolet has raised the prices of its Blazer compact sport-utilities $50 a model. GMC made the same increase on its Jimmy, the sister model to the Blazer (Automotive News, June 1).
The 1998 models of the Blazer and the Jimmy have customer rebates of $1,000.
On a sales-weighted basis, the Blazer and Jimmy increases add $3.56 to the average price of a General Motors car or light truck, according to Automotive News.
It brings GM's price increase to $356, or 1.35 percent, since the end of the 1997 model year.
