STUTTGART, Germany - If Robert Eaton, chairman of Chrysler Corp., wants to address the DaimlerChrysler AG stockholders next year, he may have to learn German.
Deutsche Bank would have about 10 percent of the DC stock, and its chairman, Hilmar Kopper, has no doubt about the nationality of the new company.
'Who wants to speak here will have to speak German,' said Kopper, who is on the Daimler-Benz supervisory board.
'We are and will remain a German AG. Of course there will be simultaneous translations via headphones,' Kop-per said.'
Daimler-Benz Chairman Juergen Schrempp, who would be co-CEO of DC with Eaton, also made clear where the power will be.
'The business location and the headquarters will be Stuttgart,' he told stockholders.
'There will be a second headquarters in Auburn Hills, Mich.'
