Toyota Motor Corp. last week released information on its new Japan-only, small luxury sedan, the Progres. Powered by either a 2.5- or 3.0-liter inline-six, the Progres incorporates such features as radar-driven cruise control, which maintains a fixed distance from the vehicle ahead, and curtain-shield airbags, which deploy downward from the A-pillars and roof liner to envelop passengers in a safety 'curtain' in a collision. Prices range from about $23,300 to $27,500 at current exchange rates.
