Auto Trader Online and Consumers Car Club have linked their Web sites, starting today, June 1.
Auto Trader Online is a used-car Web site with about 500,000 vehicles listed for sale.
Consumers Car Club is an information service for car buyers. Consumers Car Club gives consumers access to such resources as vehicle shopping guides, insurance services, loan calculators and vehicle reviews.
Consumers Car Club offers a used-car buyers' protection program, which provides vehicle histories from Carfax, valuations, on-site vehicle inspections and buyer-protection insurance. The program will be available to Auto Trader Online customers.
Through the affiliation, dealers and consumers will be able to post their used cars for sale with a single listing.
This summer, Consumers Car Club will add used vehicles to the Auto Trader Online database by electronically scanning auto dealer inventories each week.
Consumers Car Club's new-car buying services include a list of dealerships approved by the company.
Auto Trader Online is in Norfolk, Va. Its parent company is Trader Publishing Co., which publishes about 330 classified-ad magazines in 90 U.S. cities.
Consumers Car Club was founded in 1987 and is in San Francisco.
