Here's an unofficial sneak peek at Ford's new rear-wheel-drive Thunderbird, which is expected to be unveiled in January at the Detroit auto show. The car's styling is heavily influenced by Thunderbirds from the mid-1950s; there's even a porthole. The new car will share the same DEW platform as the 2000-model-year Lincoln LS, which also will be built at Wixom, Mich. Meanwhile, Ford's Jac Nasser says the styling on today's cars is bland and needs more pizzazz. His comments appear on Page 4.
