Major changes are planned for the 1999 Villager, Mercury's front-wheel- drive minivan. The minivan gains a new engine, a revamped interior and all-new sheet metal and front end, as can be seen on this finished prototype. The 1999 Villager, and its counterpart, the Nissan Quest, will offer a driver-side sliding passenger door and will be powered by Nissan's 3.3-liter V-6. Both vehicles will be built at Ford's Avon Lake, Ohio, assembly plant.
