Wholesale deliveries of motor homes took off in March, while deliveries of conversion vehicles continued to fall.
Factory deliveries to dealers of conventional Class A motor homes rose 33.3 percent in March to 4,000 units. For the first quarter, Class A sales increased 3.4 percent to 10,100.
Wholesale deliveries of mini Class C motor homes reached 1,600 units in March, up 45.5 percent. First-quarter Class C deliveries increased 9.5 percent to 3,900 units.
Conversion vehicle shipments fell 38.2 percent to 13,100 units for the month. For the year to date, factory shipments of conversion vehicles dropped 32 percent to 36,600 units. Overall factory shipments, including towable RVs, fell 7.0 percent for March and 8.2 percent for the year.
