TOKYO - Nissan Motor Co. also shuffled its board, although not as extensively as Mitsubishi Motors Corp.
Executive Vice President Tadao Takei will be replaced as head of all marketing and sales in Japan. His replacement will be current managing director Hiroshi Maruyama. Takei lost the race for the presidency to Yoshikazu Hanawa two years ago.
Heiichi Hamaoka also is stepping down as an executive vice president. He was in charge of corporate communications, legal and government affairs and several other areas.
Hamaoka entered the auto industry after a career at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
All the changes will be formalized at the Nissan stockholders meeting in late June.
