Bobby Crumpler, a Newport News, Va., Nissan dealer who was taped using a racial slur against an employee, has been given more time to defend his franchise.
The hearings in Crumpler's termination case will continue Sept. 3-5. The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles has conducted several days of hearings in July and August.
At least 50 witnesses have testified in the case.
Nissan Motor Corp. U.S.A. also alleges Crumpler committed warranty fraud.
'The dealer needs a chance for rebuttal,' said Bill Lehner, Crumpler's Richmond, Va., attorney.
