An article on Page 5 of the July 28 issue mischaracterized an engine shortage at Ford of Mexico. A company spokeswoman explains that the Hermosillo assembly plant and the Chihuahua engine plant were originally scheduled to be closed for two-week vacations. Because Hermosillo did not have enough engines to resume production, the plant remained closed a third week while Chihuahua rebuilt inventories. There was no labor dispute.
A table on Page 4 of the Aug. 4 issue incorrectly labeled one company's sales figures. The numbers on the line labeled 'Subaru' were actually for Suzuki.
