TOKYO - Kanichiro Ishibashi, 77, former chairman of Bridgestone Corp. of Tokyo, died June 30. He was the son of Bridgestone founder Shojiro Ishibashi. He joined the company in 1945, was named president in 1963 and became chairman in 1973. He semi-retired in 1985 and remained an adviser to the company until his death. Bridgestone Corp. is the parent company of tire and rubber air shock supplier Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. of Nashville, Tenn.
