PORTLAND, Ore. - Freightliner Corp. completed the acquisition of Ford Motor Co.'s heavy-truck business last week after getting government clearance in the United States and Canada.
The deal was announced in February and a definitive agreement was reached last month.
Freightliner is buying Ford's Louisville and Aeromax trucks, along with tooling and assembly equipment, and the related service parts business. The deal also includes tooling for the Ford L-series and Cargo. Freightliner, a unit of Daimler-Benz AG, said it will announce where it will build the Ford trucks in late June.
