Thirty years ago, Tom Stall-kamp got his first job as a purchaser, buying nuclear fuel for the Navy. Not bad for a fresh graduate of Ohio's Miami University. In his next job, as a Coast Guard lieutenant in St. Louis, he helped rescue drowning civilians from the Mississippi River. Stallkamp, 50, left Ford in 1980 and joined Chrysler Corp. as a general purchasing agent. The Bryn Mawr, Pa., native wears two hats: executive vice president of procurement and supply and general manager of Minivan Operations.
