In an industry that rewards workaholics, Carlos Mazzorin stands out. Consider his routine: After a 4 a.m. wakeup, he puts eight miles on a treadmill, then starts work at 5: 30 a.m. Mazzorin also is a voracious reader, preferring books about history and business. The 55-year-old native of Buenos Aires got his business degree from the University of Buenos Aires. He joined Ford Motor Co. in 1972 as a procurement planning analyst; he became vice president of purchasing for Ford Automotive Operations on Jan. 1, 1996.
