Big 3 dealers differ
Chrysler dealers are the least likely to see Indianapolis-type consolidation plans as the wave of the future. Eighteen percent of Chrysler dealers said it is a coming trend, compared to 33 percent of the Ford and L-M dealers and 31 percent of GM dealers.
General Motors dealers (17 percent) are the most inclined to take an offer such as the one made to Ford dealers. Ford dealers (10 percent) are the least inclined.
More GM dealers (60 percent) want to remain independent. Ford dealers are the least inclined (49 percent).
