The revised Mitsubishi Pajero, introduced in Tokyo last week, has a new grille and 'blister' front, and rear fenders replace the former moldings. But the main change is under the hood - a new 3.5-liter V-6 direct-injection gasoline engine will be an option for Japanese buyers. The U.S. version, the Montero, will not get the fuel-efficient GDI engine because it exceeds California emissions limits. Mitsubishi hopes to sell 4,400 Pajeros a month in Japan, 60 percent with the GDI engine.
