DETROIT - Joseph Callahan, former engineering editor of Automotive News, died April 25. He was 75. He joined Automotive News in 1953 after working as a reporter for the Detroit Times. He was engineering editor of Automotive News in the 1960s. He moved to Automotive Industries magazine in 1970 and served as editor and Detroit editor until he retired in 1993. Callahan also did automotive commentary on Detroit radio station WJR.
MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA, Mass. - Boston area dealer Ralph Clark, 66, died March 17. He was general manager of Foreign Motors of Boston from 1977-88 and owned Danvers Toyota in Danvers, Mass., in the early 1970s. He retired in 1995 but remained a consultant and broker to Boston-area dealerships until his death.
FREMONT, Calif. - James Hindmarsh, 61, died April 19. He was an auditor for Chrysler Corp. from 1966-76. He was also comptroller for various dealers from 1960-66 and 1976-86, when he retired.
