General Motors is recalling more than 1.2 million full-size pickups and SUVs globally because of a potential steering problem that could increase the risk of a crash. GM, according to a spokesman, is aware of 30 accidents resulting in two injuries because of the defect. No deaths have been reported.

Ford is recalling 49,197 EV charging cables in the U.S. over a fire risk. The automaker warns that using the 120-volt cord with an AC outlet that is worn out, damaged or not on a "dedicated circuit" may heighten the temperature on the wall outlet and possibly lead to a fire.
