Annette Winkler, head of Daimler's Smart division, will be among the speakers June 6 at the Automotive News Europe Congress in Turin.
Smart is discontinuing its gasoline-powered models and losing two-thirds of its U.S. dealers, but the brand's CEO believes sales won't fall very much.
Smart expects to boost sales again in the future after they grew 21 percent in 2016, despite the lack of a crossover in the brand's lineup.
This is not exactly the golden age of microcars. Indeed, at a time when gas is cheap and looks like it will stay cheap, can Smart really hope to grow?
