In the future, cars may have headlamps shoot beams from 50,000 pixels that can be individually turned on and off to eliminate the glare for oncoming motorists and pedestrians, and maybe even project message icons onto the roadway that signal turns or other actions. Suppliers Hella and Osram are working to make such headlamps a reality.
