Toyota's investment in Uber Technologies has drawn the battle lines between the world's largest automakers, which have now solidified partnerships with competing ride-hailing apps in the burgeoning field of on-demand transportation.

Mitsubishi names new r&d chief, restates earnings

Mitsubishi said Nissan executive Mitsuhiko Yamashita will become its r&d chief, part of a management overhaul in the wake of a fuel-economy scandal that also prompted the automaker to restate its annual earnings.
