Seat has unveiled the first model from its stand-alone Cupra performance brand, the 296-hp Cupra Ateca compact SUV. The Cupra Ibiza hatchback and Cupra Arona subcompact crossover are likely to follow, although they are not yet confirmed for production.
2019 Buick EnvisionFeb. 22
The Buick Envision compact crossover has been freshened for the 2019 model year to better align the compact crossover with the brand's other models. Both the front and rear have been changed for 2019 including the addition of Buick's signature waterfall grille with a winged Buick emblem and new available LED headlights. Most of the sheet metal changes are in the rear of the vehicle, which is more sculpted and features less rounded elements compared to the outgoing model. The vehicle's interior remains relatively unchanged, aside from the addition of a button to shut off the stop/start system.

Hyundai has redesigned the Sante Fe for the 2019 model year and will expand the brand's best-selling light truck's powerplant offerings, including a diesel. The diesel Santa Fe houses a 2.2-liter CRDi turbodiesel engine that churns out nearly 200 hp. Other options include a 2.4-liter inline 185-hp four-cylinder GDI engine, and the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an estimated 232 hp. Each engine is matched with the brand's new eight-speed automatic transmission. The gasoline version will arrive in U.S. showrooms in August, while the diesel variant is due in 2019. The five-passenger Santa Fe Sport will now be called Santa Fe. The three-row, seven-passenger model will be renamed the Santa Fe XL.

The Hyundai Nexo bests its predecessor, the Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell EV crossover, in every category, the automaker says. The Nexo’s electric motor output climbs to 120 kilowatts, from 100. Its driving range is extended 30 percent, and its three hydrogen tanks can hold more fuel while weighing less.Hyundai says the Nexo delivers a full-tank driving distance of 378 miles under South Korea’s testing regime and more than 350 miles under the EPA’s. It rides on a dedicated fuel cell platform. The Nexo goes on sale in South Korea this month before reaching Europe in the late second quarter and the U.S. in the fourth quarter of 2018.

Opel is offering its Combo Life in five- and seven-seat versions. The compact van shares its platform with the Peugeot Partner and Citroen Berlingo. It replaces the previous-generation Combo Life, which was built by Fiat's Turkish joint venture.
