GM hanging on to tech units despite hype of $30 billion spinoff

GM will keep its business units working on self-driving vehicles and car-sharing despite analysts suggesting they could be spun off and valued at as much as $30 billion, according to a top executive.

Polestar debuts with performance coupe, subscription sales model

Volvo and its parent, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, are initially investing about $752 million in the stand-alone electrified vehicle brand, mostly for a China assembly plant. Only 500 Polestar 1 coupes will be produced annually and customers can preorder the vehicle starting Tuesday.
