Chrysler dealers meet order quota after 2nd extension
Chrysler LLC succeeded in getting dealers to buy enough vehicles to keep the company operating after twice extending a deadline, co-President Jim Press said today. Acura gives the TSX a V-6 option for the 2010 model year
Performance loving Acura customers bought the sporty TSX sedan because of its nimbleness and responsiveness. But many wanted more oomph than the standard 201 hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC engine provided. Hyundai's Krafcik: U.S. auto industry needs broad reform
The auto industry in the United States suffers from an abysmal public perception and must voluntarily undertake “revolutionary” change to pull itself out of the morass, said John Krafcik, acting CEO of Hyundai Motor America. Nissan's tall, boxy Cube will carry a $14,685 base price when sales begin in early May. “The car has a small footprint, but a big interior. It is functional and fashionable at the same time,” said Rich Latek, Nissan's director of small car marketing.

Ford Motor Co. hopes to bust the Taurus' sleepy, old-man image by resurrecting the SHO name and packing a 365-hp V-6 under the hood. “The heart of any SHO is the motor,” said Jim Farley, Ford's group vice president of marketing and communications. “The car has better performance and much better gas mileage than a BMW 550i, which uses a 4.8-liter V-8.” 12:01 am U.S. ET | Feb. 11
Nissan North America, bowing to pressure from dealers, reversed a decision announced Monday and said it will participate in February's Chicago auto show. “We have found a way to maintain a presence at the Chicago show through our dealers, while still demonstrating the fiscal responsibility required by these challenging times,” Nissan said. 3:58 am U.S. ET | Nov. 27, 2008
DETROIT AUTO SHOW
Nissan North America has dropped out of next year's Detroit and Chicago auto shows, citing depressed economic conditions. The decision makes Nissan the biggest automaker to skip out on Detroit's North American International Auto Show.
