Panel: Diesels may hit 20% of U.S. market by 2020
About 20 percent of the vehicles in the United States could run on diesel fuel by the end of the next decade, a panel of auto executives said here last week at the 2008 SAE World Congress. The problem with electric cars is the energy source. By far, the greatest polluters of our planet are coal-fired electric plants, which supply 85 percent of our electricity.
