Ford, UAW voice opposition to freezing fuel economy standards

Ford and the UAW were among the major automotive organizations to oppose a rollback of national fuel economy standards during a public hearing Tuesday with federal officials.


Lighthizer: U.S. won't wait for Canada on new NAFTA deal

The United States is moving forward on its bilateral trade deal with Mexico that has implications for the auto industry even if Canada is left out because negotiators can't resolve their sharp differences over dairy and a dispute resolution system, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said.
