Mazda Kabura concept
The Kabura concept is a sports coupe designed at the Mazda design center in California. The Kabura is the third in a series of concepts from Mazda starting with the Sassou (shown in Frankfurt), which was designed at Mazda’s European design center. Next came the Senku, which was designed in Japan and shown at the Tokyo show. All ride on a rear-drive platform.
Type of vehicle: Coupe
What's cool: Windshield to the roof's B-pillar junction is one seamless sheet of glass. The glass has adjustable tinting and opacity. Asymetrical 3+1 seating arrangement. Leather-grain interior comes from 100 percent post-industrial waste.
Production possibility: No plans yet. But it is based loosely on the Miata platform, and Mazda is big on niche derivatives. It could arrive as soon as late 2007.
Designer: Franz von Holzhausen
