BMW X5
The redone SAV (for sports activity vehicle) is bigger and stiffer to provide handling and comfort to closer match a proper driving BMW. Two engines will be offered, a 4.8-liter 350-hp V8 and a 3.0-liter 260-hp inline six. Third-row seating is an optional offering in this hotly contest market with updated offerings from Acura, Mercedes and Audi vying for leverage. The new X5 starts at $46,595 for the six-cylinder and $55,195 for V8 models.
