Larry Lonero is Northport Associates' partner with primary responsibility for road safety R&D. He is an internationally recognized expert on driving and methods used to influence driver behavior. A former motorcycle racer, Lonero is trained and experienced in advanced driving techniques for automobiles and motorcycles. He is a member of the U.S. Transportation Research Board Committee on Operator Education and Regulation and the Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals. He directed development of the textbook, Road Worthy, still in use in Ontario, and coauthored The Human Collision, as well as Changing Road User Behavior: What Works and What Doesn't. He was responsible for program development and public education that led to North America's first mandatory seat belt use law.
