Toyota's Carter to speak at Retail Forum

Bob Carter, senior vice president of automotive operations for Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., will be a featured speaker at the Automotive News Retail Forum on March 31, ahead of the National Automobile Dealers Association convention in Las Vegas.

The Retail Forum, devoted to dealer issues, will include panel discussions on who owns the customer data at a dealership and on the state of the dealership buy-sell market.

Carter: Factory, dealership roles

Carter is responsible for the Toyota and Lexus divisions, sales administration, Toyota Logistics Services, Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico and Toyota de Puerto Rico.

Previously, he was Toyota Division general manager and before that, Lexus Division general manager.

He also has been general manager and part owner of Hyannis Toyota in Hyannis, Mass.

Keynote speakers will be Roger Penske, chairman of Penske Automotive Group and closely held Penske Corp., and Steve Young, the former NFL quarterback who is now co-chairman of AutoAlert.
