Subaru wants to focus on the family in two new spots that made our viral video rankings this week.
Both “Jr. Driver” and “View from the Child Seat” use Subaru vehicles’ reliability and longevity as selling points for parents. In the first, a dad offers his 5-year-old son the keys to a 2015 Subaru Legacy. The kid then imagines all of the daily frustrations that go with the freedom of driving: being the family chauffeur, getting parking tickets, dealing with traffic.
He begs off, but the spot emphasizes that though “it may be quite a while before he’s ready,” the Legacy will still be there. “Jr. Driver,” comes in at No. 3 with 1,016,407 views. “View from the Child Seat,” which tracks a 2015 Forester through the life of a child, comes in at No. 4 with 893,836 views.
Both spots come from Carmichael Lynch.
Also new this week is Toyota’s “2015 1 For Everyone Sales Event” campaign, ranked sixth by Visible Measures with 703,358 views.
