Earlier this year, Volkswagen's "Eyes on the Road" rocketed to the top of our auto brand viral video rankings with its safety-focused public service announcement. Apparently that wasn't an aberration, as Smart now commands the No. 1 position with a spot meant to crack down on jay-walking.
"The Dancing Traffic Light," created by BBDO, aims to make waiting at the crosswalk more fun by taking the classic flashing stop-and-wait man and animating it to dance. The agency set up a booth in in a busy public square that invited passersby in to dance, with their motion being captured and mimicked by a life size traffic light. These were then displayed at crosswalks. According to the video, 81 percent more people stopped at a red light than with regular traffic lights. The spot topped our list with 1,426,210 views.
Also new this week is Porsche's enthusiast-focused "Believers," ranked seventh by Visible Measures with 324,771 views; and Ford's "What's Your Focus Story?" It ranked ninth with 268,492 views.
