Severe weather spurs auction expansion

Insurance Auto Auctions Inc., which specializes in salvage vehicles and those donated to charity, has expanded its auction site outside Omaha, Neb., in response to growing volume.

The company, a unit of KAR Auction Services and a sister company to ADESA, said the site's volume has increased in the wake of natural disasters in the area such as tornadoes, severe storms, hail and floods.

The expanded site covers 30 acres, an increase of about 11 acres, and includes covered storage for specialty vehicles.
