Pricing on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will start at $78,995, including shipping, General Motors said today. The convertible model will start at $83,995, including shipping.
The 2015 Z06 is offered in three trim lines, and buyers can choose from two performance packages.
The Carbon Fiber Ground Effects package, developed by the Corvette Racing program, costs $2,995. It enables the Z06 to achieve aerodynamic downforce for better stability at high speeds.
The Z07 Performance Package includes Brembo carbon ceramic-matrix brake rotors to improve braking and handling. The package also adds adjustable front and rear aerodynamic components to the Carbon Fiber Ground Effects package. The Z07 package costs an extra $7,995.
Owners can customize their Corvettes with available features including leather-wrapped interior, data recorder and navigation, sport seats in leather or microfiber, carbon fiber interior trim and a carbon fiber roof panel in the coupe.
The Z06 is equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter, 650-hp V-8 engine with 650 pounds-feet of torque.
The Corvette supercar is set to hit dealerships in early 2015, but GM will start taking customer orders in the last quarter of this year, a spokesman said today.
U.S. Corvette sales jumped 22 percent in 2013 following the launch of the sixth generation 2014 Corvette Stingray. Deliveries have continued to soar in 2014, rising 228 percent to 20,804 vehicles through July this year.
