A Rolls for the masses: Video game adds Wraith

The Rolls-Royce Wraith appears in “Forza Motorsport 5.”

For the first time, video gamers can take a Rolls-Royce for a spin.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars last week debuted the Wraith in "Forza Motorsport 5" on the Xbox One, a milestone for driving game enthusiasts and an example of the branding opportunities automakers see in video games.

Gamers can download the superluxury fastback coupe for free.

The Wraith, which has a 624-hp V-12 engine and sells for $287,400, including shipping, has been meticulously re-created inside and out. Gamers can examine the vehicle in detail in the Forzavista showcase mode.

"We are delighted to mark a first in video game history by introducing Wraith, the most powerful Rolls-Royce ever made, into 'Forza Motorsport 5.' The game will provide players with a new level of excitement by exploring the iconic features of Wraith," said Marc Mielau, Rolls-Royce's general manager of marketing, in a statement.

Also available for download in last week's update were the 2015 Ford Mustang GT that hasn't yet arrived in dealerships, and the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge concept that was unveiled in January during the Detroit auto show.
