Dahlheim named CEO of VW Credit

Dahlheim: From interim chief to CEO at VW Credit

Christian Dahlheim today was named CEO of captive finance company VW Credit Inc.

Dahlheim, 45, had been CFO for VW Credit, of Herndon, Va.

VW Credit’s previous CEO, Andrew Stuart, 47, left the company effective July 15 to become CEO of U.S. operations for TD Auto Finance. At the time, Dahlheim was put in charge of the organization until a permanent CEO could be chosen.

VW Credit serves the Volkswagen and Audi brands, plus Ducati motorcycles. It offers floorplan financing to VW and Audi dealers and underwrites new-car loans and leases.

It did not make Experian’s latest list of the top 20 auto financing companies, having a market share of less than 1 percent, but said its total assets grew by 14 percent in 2013 to a record $23.6 billion.

Dahlheim previously was regional manager, Europe & International, for Volkswagen Financial Services AG, responsible for financial services businesses of the VW Group in Europe and certain overseas markets.
