Former NADA instructor John Clancey dead at 82

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- John Clancey, a former instructor at the National Automobile Dealers Association's Dealer Candidate Academy, died Feb. 22. He was 82.

Before joining NADA as a 20 Group consultant, Clancey worked in various sales and dealership management positions. At the NADA Dealer Candidate Academy, he taught dealership operations to dealers' sons and daughters and other key managers. After leaving NADA, he became the general manager of a group of three dealerships, then was a consultant to Toyota dealers.
