Frigid Ford force skates to victory in Wisconsin

Bill Ford, in the middle of the front row, and his Team Ford colleagues brought home a chilly trophy.

The wind chill factor plunged to 27 below zero when Bill Ford and the rest of Team Ford took to the ice in Eagle River, Wis., for the 2014 Labatt Blue/USA Pond Hockey Championship.

"That first morning, your fingers were a little numb," Ford told usahockeynews.com. "That cold woke us up a little, but everyone's out here and we're all good."

The Ford team, wearing bright red jerseys emblazoned with a red, white and blue Mustang logo, went 5-0 in the 50+ bracket of the Feb. 7-9 tournament and coasted to a 7-2 win in the title game. Ford, 56, scored several goals during the tournament.

It's the fifth time Team Ford has won the 50+ Tier 1 title. The team included Ford executives Rene Rodolosi and Rob Sosnitza, and friends of Bill Ford.
