NEW ORLEANS -- Susan Scarola, vice chairman of DCH Auto Group, received the 9th annual Barbara Cox Anthony Automotive Woman of the Year Award by Manheim and AutoTrader Group on Sunday.

Scarola helps craft strategic direction of the company, which operates 27 new- and used-car dealerships in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and California.

Sandy Schwartz, president of Manheim and AutoTrader, said Scarola is an exceptional business leader with a passion for delivering an excellent customer experience.

"Susan is a people person," he said during the presentation. "She has taken her strength and her belief in people and spread it throughout the company."

Schwartz presented the award to Scarola during Northwood University's breakfast at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention here.

The award recognizes women who are business leaders and are committed to improving the auto industry.

Manheim and AutoTrader Group, in conjunction with the award, will donate a $10,000 scholarship to Carolyn Buchner, who is studying automotive retail management at Northwood University's West Palm Beach, Fla., campus.

Barbara Cox Anthony was an owner of Cox Enterprises, which owns Manheim and AutoTrader Group.
