Accessories sales boost profits

Sidney Haider, CEO of AddOnAuto, a company that helps dealerships tap into the $32 billion accessories market, will present the 2014 Auto Accessories Sales Trend Report during workshops on accessories sales and marketing at the convention.

Workshops are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Haider says accessories sales on average yield gross profits of about 54 percent, but dealerships snag less than 6 percent of the overall accessories market.

"For every one dealer that is doing fantastic [selling accessories], there are still nine that are not," he says.

The report is based on data from a group of 150 dealerships in 30 states representing 24 brands.
