Mercedes names Fulton head of U.S. financial unit

Brian D. Fulton has been promoted to vice president in charge of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA.

Fulton, 51, will begin his job Jan. 1. He has been with the finance arm for 20 years and will replace Dietmar Exler, 45, who on Monday was named vice president of sales for Mercedes-Benz USA.

Fulton has been head of the finance arm’s unit in China since February 2012. Prior to that he was CEO of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Canada Corp. for four years.

In 2005 he was named managing director for the east business center of Mercedes-Benz Financial. He joined the company in July 1994 as an assistant region manager for Mercedes-Benz Credit Corp.
