What makes dealership employees want to go above and beyond?

At the Best Dealerships To Work For, employees are engaged.
Engaged employees go the extra mile. They feel a personal stake in their company's success. They don't just put in the hours, earn and collect their pay and go home.
The following 10 statements were part of the survey sent to employees at dealerships that entered the running for this year's Best Dealerships To Work For ranking. Experts say the responses to the statements indicate employee engagement.
In each case, employees at the Best Dealerships To Work For were far more likely to respond positively than their counterparts at other dealerships. And remember, the other respondents were not from the industry at large, but from dealerships that thought they had a shot at making this year's Best Dealerships To Work For list.
In some cases, the differences are dramatic. For example, 74 percent of respondents at the other dealerships agree that "My pay is fair for the work I perform."
If three of four employees are happy with their pay, that sounds good, right? But 92 percent of employees at the Best Dealerships To Work For agree with that statement.
Or consider the statement: "I can trust what this dealership tells me." At the Best Dealerships To Work For, 96 percent of employees endorse that statement. At the others: 81 percent.
